A wall with no patience. I've heard the saying, "Your vibe attracts your tribe".
If that truly is the case, not only do I need a new tribe, I need a new vibe.
This past week has been especially hard. Whether it be hormones or just having hit the wall, but I'm really paying attention to when people contact me. With the exception of a few, the majority of people still only contact me when they want or need something. Is it me? Or is this just the way society is now, and I'm the one out of touch?
I'm being short, and testy with those people. Some notice immediately, and vow to make it different. Others get a little pissy when I treat them the same way. I pull out a few snarky remarks, and it silences them.
Long story short. I've deleted a lot of dead wood this weekend. Seems to be an on going process in my life. That's when i ran across the your vibe/tribe saying.
So, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to pay attention to the vibe I put out in the world.
Separating friends from acquaintances.
We have friends of different kind. Those that are long distance. Some you connect with for a few hours, every couple months. Those you see/talk to daily/weekly. Regardless, they're there when it matters.
Acquaintances are those you'd like to be friends with, but never really get around to building that rapport with them for one reason or another. You like them enough, but they're not on your mind. Maybe you know deep down they need to be kept at a distance, or you know you reallly don't have all that much in common with, but they are not jerky enough to just say, no thanks. Acquaintances you don't have any expectations for. They're not your first choice to call when you need help, or an ear to chat.
I'm making those lists.
Obtaining a new vibe, for a new tribe. Better than doing nothing.
