I feel AWESOME this morning! I think I’m back to my old self.. woot!!!!
I think all those extra hormones from the pill are gone now, along with the way too early monthly gift it brought on.
Seriously, I feel like I’ve done yoga, gone surfing, had sex and got tones of sleep all in one!......wonder how long it will last? Lol
Nice to feel like myself again, especially after the woes is me funk I've been in.
I still feel those things, but on a healthier level.
I'm not being drown by them, they are manageable to sort about some rational thoughts now.

Everything sucks - a woes is me week
I"m in a funk. A woes is me funk. Which seems to be the hardest for anyone to get out of.
-Girlfriend codes are being broken.
-People not holding up to their words.
-Actions are speaking louder than words.
In short, feeling more and more like an after thought from people I thought were a close knit group of friends.
I’m starting to second guess myself and wondering if these were ever really friends or was it me thinking – wishing – wanting that we were all better friends than what the reality really is.
I'm tired of chasing people down to stay in touch, seriously.
If you say you’re going to call on Friday and don’t, two, three weeks in a row, then get upset when I don’t call to REMIND you to call, seriously? I’m thinking if I was important to people I hold important to me, they would do the things they say they will and when they don’t…. well, I'm feeling the love.
(there is a serious need for a sarcasm font)
And its not just here and there, its all the time. I guess this makes me high maintenance?
I’m probably going to disconnect my land line, since it NEVER rings.
And look into a long distance plan on my cell.
Wonder how long it will be before anyone notices that my land line isn’t in service.
Tired of the men in my life, acquaintances, friends or not, and they way they treat their g/f’s. More so how they all seem to think that wanting to have inappropriate conversations or relationships with me is not cheating and totally acceptable. (As long as they don’t get caught). What is it about me that invites men to think I'm okay with this? I've asked a few and have received really lame reasons/excuses in return. But all claim I'm not doing anything to provoke this.... hmmmm
Has it always been this way? Or am I just waking up and being shocked by it all?
And how much of it am I actually contributing to it? Or are all men like this and its either cant beat them so may as well join in.
I am lonely. Not just romantically. Its been this way for a while now.
Over thinking and all that, I wonder if there is more of this in store for me as I grow older and older..
Cos if it is, I seriously may as well off myself right now. (of course I’d never do that)
What is sad and makes me a little angry, is that once I have a car again, how many people will suddenly be available again. When I had my car, I always had to drive to who ever house, and on road trips etc..
But now I’m car-less, I don’t see any of it being returned now that those same people have cars.
I’m losing faith in the whole “you get back what you put into the world”, cos it certainly has not been a two way street in my world for awhile now. When does it balance out?
Maybe I will only do things for myself and just say NO to everyone else from now on. Treat others the way I’m treated, instead of how I’d like to be treated, cos that is getting me no where. Hmph.
In short, I'm not a fan of life in general and people right now.
When did it become socially acceptable to be lazy on your word, morals, principles and values? And can those people feel good about treating others with such disregard?

Epic Melt Down! Yasmin Birth Control - Fail.
I have officially become a lunatic- basket case- crazy pmsing cry at the drop of a hat- nutz.
9 days into taking the Yasmin 28 pill and I've lost my friggin mind.
Yesterday, mid afternoon at work I hit an all bottom low, emotionally.
If you were breathing wrong, I probably swore at you in my head. Crazy.
About 4 days into the package I started having all sorts of symptoms.
Extremely tender breasts, blurred vision, constant dull headache, insomnia, constant racing heart, shortness of breath, mood swings that could make a manic person look sane!
Was it all hype worked up in my head? Who knows, but it was coming to a head whether I was ready for it or not. I left work abruptly about 2pm, while quickly losing my ability to keep my composer emotionally and professionally. Got home less than an hour later and slept til 8pm. Not feeling refreshed, only more sad, gloomy and wishing I could just curl up and sleep life away.
I've had a bout of depression in my past due to extreme circumstances, but this, this was erratic and if I had been on the streets someone might have called the police to lock me up.
Know how humiliating it is to be on transit sobbing uncontrollably? Ya this isn't building ANY character.
At some point last night I decided this emotional roller coast I've been experiencing the last 9 days was so not worth it, to clear up a little chin, back, breast acne. Hormonal my ass. Can only imagine what I'll be like when I start going thru peri-menopause if this is how my body reacted to birth control.
I called the nurses line 811 and explained what I was feeling et cetra and asked if it was okay/safe to just stop taking the pill. They advised me yes it was and mentioned that this clearly wasn't the bcp for me.
After asking why I was taking bcp's over the age of 35, I gave them all the reasons we were trying this. They understood and said it was more imperative I stop taking it if I was indeed having the side effects I claimed, considering I wasn't taking it for birth control itself. Weighed the pro/con list.
Being as upset as I was, no one in the right mind would dare tell me I wasn't feeling those things.
She also mentioned that it should be a week before I'm 100% normal.
Day 10 - I'm no longer taking the Yasmin 28.
When I inform my doctor that I've stopped, I'll also mention that I never wish to do that again. I'll deal with the acne. The topical and penicillin seem to be working just fine with no negative side effects.
Til then, I'll fake my good mood til it becomes true.
Personally, I can not recommend this bcp to anyone who may be sensitive to taking drugs.
Who knows if being over 35 contributed to this result or not.

Update - Yasmin Birth Control - Side effects, already?
I've been on this pill a week now, and although I like the very noticeable "barely there" womanhood gift, I'm already experiencing side effects or at least I think I am.
Coincidence? Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Recap: I'm over 35, have hypothyroidism, and 60 lbs over weight.
Aside from that I"m healthy.
In the past week:
-My breasts have been tender to the point of making me cranky all week. Sore to touch when in the shower.
-I've been crying way-too-easily in the last couple days. (Woes is me week or the pill?)
-I'm also wearing my glasses more often as I'm finding I'm slightly blurred more than usual.
(Maybe overtired?)
-Finding it increasingly harder to fall asleep at a normal time. 2-3am on a week day is not normal when you get up at 530am.
-Constant mild headache. (Due to blurred vision or the pill?)
So what are the chances that all this started happening the same week I started taking the pill?
I decided to do more reading on Yasmin side effects and keep getting bounced to these terrifying sites.
Ones that say if you experience one or more of the following you're at an increase risk of experiencing SERIOUS OR DANGEROUS SIDE EFFECTS.
um ya, remind again why I'm taking this pill?
At the moment I'm seriously considering not even chancing it and just stopping the pill.
Really is a little face acne @ almost 40 worth what could be long term side effects?
Can you just stop taking the pill or should I finish the cycle?
Now on one of these sites, it did say all women experience side effects at different rates.
Some right away, some in time, some may never.
Question:
Do I stop asap or give it this package to see if anything/everything subsides.
In addition the Rentiol topical creme and penicillin seems to be doing wonders.

Birth Control Pills
As mentioned before, as part of my treatment for my acne I've been assigned to take bcp's for 3 months.
I start them tonight. :( :) I have mixed feelings about being on birth control let alone and over the age of 35.
It's 3 months. I'll be taking Yazmin. "Apparently" this one is good for the least about of weight gain.
THANK GAWD!!! Cos I'm a girthy gal to begin with and working hard at losing the weight I put on after my folks passed on. I do not need ANYTHING working against me, well unless its a guilty pleasure comfort food. Oh Shut up. Don't judge me.
Pro's.
- I like the idea of knowing EXACTLY when I'm due for my womanhood to pay me a visit.
- Shorter cycles. Est 3 days, compared to the 7 I'm use to now.
- Helps Acne. (we'll see).
Con's
-Synthetic hormone in my body.
-cos I'm over 35 I'm now in the 4-10% of increased chances of heart disease, blood clots etc.
(Under 35 is 1-3%). Um thats a large jump, in my opinion.
- Stronger mood swings, more emotional.
Great I'm going to be a raging lunatic, like I"m not moody enough at this time of the month..
Just ducky.
I checked with my family doctor in addition to the dermotolgist about being on it, since he knows my helath history etc (hypothyroidism). He gave two thumbs up and said that I am as healthy as can be, aside from my weight. (obviously).
So that is it. I'm offically at my 3 pill limit + plus one cream starting tonight.
I just hope when all is said and done, that this hormonal flare up doesnt continue.
Fingers crossed.

Update - Adult Acne
It's been only two weeks since I started on the topical cream and penicillin for my acne.
WOW! The topical cream is amazing!!!
My face looks amazing! Getting compliments how I look like I've just worked out, and/or glowing a little.... well that would be the cream burning off the first few layers of my skin lol
Although I have to stay the hell out of the sun. Even when I wear sunscreen, shades and a hat, if I'm not careful I start to rash up a little... when these meds said "stay out of the sun" they were damn serious!!!
I start taking the bcp's very soon, and can not wait to see the long term results.
It wasn't til right now that I've realized just how self conscious I was about it. Now I'm smiling more than usual, not wearing ANY makeup and still look good (I still wear eye makeup) and I'm loving it!!!!
That's all for now readers, Happy Tuesday.

Adult Acne = Awesome Sauce!....not.
Since I turned 30 my face started acting up a little.
At 35 I thought I might have to go live in a cave. Nothing massive just consistently pimples popping up here and there. Now at 38, whatever was going on with my face, moved to my boobs and my back!!! SEXY! (shoots herself)
Now not only do I have to content with being overweight and working on it, I have the added stress that if anyone were to see me naked right now, they wouldn't touch me.
Off to the dermatologist!!!! She is my age, hip, trendy and gets it. Really gets it.
We've tried a type of penicillin in the past but it's not enough anymore.
It's only suppressing it, not clearing it up.
She suggests I go on Acutane for 6 months. Really? This shit is serious stuff.
It requires blood work every few weeks to make sure your liver is doing it's job of moving it out of your system. Great.
I begged for a less severe option. We discuss my health history, current and past sexual history, and family .We decide that we'll go with birth control pills, a topical cream to be used at night and 3 months worth on penicillin. Awesome.
If there is not a significant improvement, I'll be moving over to taking Acutane for 6 months.
Which means NO ALCOHOL at all for 6 months, blood work every 3 weeks and more SPF 60 sunscreen on every inch of my body, everyday. Not just my face (which I do now - fair fair skin)
Some of you are probably saying, just do it, you'll be glad you did.
What you don't know is I have a rule about how many pills I take, (never more than 3, ever) and I'm lazy.
Lazy. Lazy. Not sure I'm making this clear. LAZY!
Now I'm not thrilled about being on birth control.
It was a decision I made 13 years ago not to take it anymore, as it no longer made sense to me to take a synthetic hormone to control the hormones that have worked on their own for millions prior to this wonderful invention. Plus if I hadn't gone off it, we would never had properly diagnosed having hypothyroidism.
This is where the 3 pill rule applies.
1- Thyroid, once a day for life
2- Motrin as needed
3- reserved for any meds I may be on for infection or whatever etc.
After growing up watching my siblings and mum take meds for their aliment, then something for the side effects of the meds taken for the aliment, etc they ended up on a cocktail of meds that were never necessary. I made the decision as a teenager to never do that to my body.
Now I'm at 3 + 1 cream
1- thyroid
2- birth control
3- penicillin.
4- topical cream
Ya it wont be forever. Just 3 months. I'll suck it up and stop complaining. But if I end up on Acutane, you're all going to hear about it daily! For the side effects are heavy. More on that if we go there.
When it comes down to it, I'll have to make the decision which is more important.
Maintaining soft, smooth, sexy blemish free skin, or tough it out and deal with any scaring that may occur as a result of scabs/bra bands etc. ugh. FML.
Why couldn't my body have dealt with this like every other 13-19 year old on the planet at the time when I was 13-19!!!!!

Secret Santa Blogging
Life Begins at 30ty has this great idea
She has propose a secret Santa of blogging.
She will throw all names that volunteer into a hat and assign each person to another blogger.
You come up with a topic/question that you want them to write about.
This should result with some really interesting posts.
I'm already excited and stressed about writing outside my own little bubble.
Stay tuned I'm sure things will be comical.
Painting my apartment? HA!
I've been saying that for the last 7 years. I've picked out colours many many times, although I do not know the first thing about painting. All I keep hearing is that its the easier thing to do, BUT, there is always a 'but' it's very time consuming.
I have to do this. Revamp my apt to reflect that a somewhat stylish almost 40 yr lives there and that it's not just an apartment serving it's purpose of a roof over my head. I'll probably cry at some point then look back and wonder why I was being such a huge pansy about it.
Re-entered the POF life of dating.
Can it be called dating, since many don't get to that point and more never get past the first date.
I decided over the weekend to take my own single hood into my own hands again. Not sure this is a smart idea yet as my prior track record is not that of anything to be proud of.
Saturday I sent a few messages out, all were read and one was read/deleted.
A few replied and one skipped the whole message thing all together and IM me.
IM chat was okay, then he asked me to call him. At midnight after he'd been out drinking with friends.
Um, ya, NO.
No conversation that starts at midnight on a Saturday is going to be held by a gentleman.
I explained why I wasn't comfortable calling him and it could wait til the following day.
Phrases like "don't you trust me?" were thrown about. I laughed with replies of "No, I don't trust you, I don't know you lol" keeping it all very light.
After 30 mins of chatting online I decided I would call him, from my private blocked number.
Conversation is good, easy. He's obviously educated and can bounce onto many topics.
Then it happens. "What is your sex drive like?" he asked in all seriousness.
Before I can reply and pick my mouth up off the floor, he goes on to tell me how he needs sex and that his last g/f was a prude. Annoyed that I had predicted this conversation before it started I humoured him with a vague response that should have been enough. "I like sex and everything that has to do with it".
He wasn't impressed. He wanted details, positions, fantasies etc. I refuse to dignify it with a response.
He laughed and said I was "too proper" and that we were both adults etc.
I laughed telling him could call me during week if he wanted to talk like adults.
Discussions about sex are okay if you're both willing but at this point its too early in the game for me since I'm not looking for casual hook ups.
More to follow, I'm sure.

I'm funny like that.....
....or so I thought.
I really hate it when the things in my head that I think are hysterical do not translate on paper or by mouth.
Either I'm really not as funny as I thought I was this past week or so, or everyones' funny bone on the planet is seriously defective and should be replaced asap.
Does this happen to anyone else, ever?
