Virus? Bios updated needed? About to bite the dust?
I'm buying a laptop airflow thingy after work to ensure it's getting the proper airflow and staying cool etc. I've had this computer 5-6 years and never had a problem. It's home is currently on an end table. Never on the couch or bed or anything soft.

If that turns out to be the case.... what to get? My last comp was a 17" dual core HP. This one is only 13" and apparently more powerful than my last one.... that might have been the case 5-6 years ago.
To switch to Mac or not? hmmmmm. Any Mac users out there?

Okay blog-o-sphere family send me your input, your knowledge and anything else that will help me with the pending new purchase. Has to be a laptop btw, as I'm limited for space as to where I can put a computer.
I switched to a mac a few months ago and LOOOOVEE it. It cost me $1200 which REALLY hurt my bank account because I'm poor, but it was definitely the right choice for me.
ReplyDeleteFYI, when I had a dell my laptop used to overheat and the fan would go constantly. Getting one of those air-cans to clean the dust out of the system definitely helped a lot.
Okay I love my Mac - I have used pc's everywhere else - and it still comes down to the fact that well Macs are sturdier - built to last, for example mine is a hand me down Mac - it's about 6 years old and while I'll need a new one for my PhD this baby will likely survive another few years. To be honest you kind of have to have a Mac to know why they're awesome - sounds pretensious but if you ever switch you'll get it.
ReplyDeleteThat being said - the suckers are pricy - so it really depends - you can pay less for a good little netbook that will work for a year or two, maybe three or more for a Mac. A lot has to do with what you're using it for.
Ya, I was a little taken back just HOW expensive they are. When the day comes, I'll shop around. Although I'm happy with my brand right now, I'm not thrilled about the price tag of a Mac, though I'll weigh out my needs over wants etc and come to some conclusion then.
