A while back I mentioned the curator at my museum had applied for a new position with another museum one city over. After a long wait, he verbally accepted the position this morning! Woot!
Personal and formal emails were sent and received upon hearing the great news. Not 5 minutes later, I get an email from Crazy C at work, asking me if we can chat. "I'm assuming you've heard the news if you're still in touch with anyone here. Rob is leaving us. Can we chat?" Little does she (or anyone for that matter) know I was a reference for him to get that position.
I do not think I'll be replying. It's temping cos I want to be the sympathetic ear as I had offered in the original email telling her to back off. Instead, I'm going to go against the urge to be nice and do the exact opposite.
No reply.
I already know her emails will be all weepy about how she won't have him to stare at anymore. Errr.. I mean obsess about.
We're planning drinks to celebrate. I imagine it will be a group thing. No reason it shouldn't be. I'll see her at that time. Where I'm surrrrrrrre he'll let it out of the bag about my part in it all. That will surely piss her off. Is it wrong that the thought of that brings me a little joy? ha-ha.
So, that's it. It will be interesting to see what the dynamic of the museum will be when I return in November. I promised I'd give the newbie a try before deciding if I'd resign permanently or not. I am a woman of my word. Well I try at least.
